About this position

Main Responsibilities:

  • Content Development: Develop compelling stories and narratives that align with the annual priorities of the SSA sales team as outlined in the Ads Marketing plan. This includes generating content ideas, drafting articles, and ensuring they meet the specified word count and style guidelines.
  • Collaboration with Creative Agency: Work closely with the creative agency to brief them on content requirements, manage workload, and ensure the timely delivery of materials. Weekly status calls and regular briefings will facilitate effective communication and coordination.
  • Case Study Management: Oversee the entire process of pitching and producing case studies, from initial pitch to final production. This involves liaising with clients, obtaining necessary clearances for interviews, and collaborating with internal and external teams to ensure smooth execution.
  • Market Balancing: Manage the balance of stories from priority markets such as South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, and Ghana. Tailor content plans to reflect the unique characteristics and needs of each market.
  • Content Promotion: Collaborate with the agency to create social media and email content for promotional purposes. Ensure all promotional materials comply with relevant laws and advertising regulations.
  • Newsletter Management: Curate and deliver a biweekly newsletter containing updates on newly produced content. This involves compiling relevant information, drafting newsletter content, and ensuring timely distribution.
  • Content Review and Editing: Review and evaluate written content for clarity, coherence, style, and overall quality. Ensure adherence to the established style guide, grammar rules, and industry standards. Edit and proofread content for errors in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and style.
  • Project Coordination: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and quality standards are maintained. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to integrate visual elements with written content and address potential issues as they arise.
  • Audience Adaptation: Tailor content to suit the preferences, reading level, and cultural context of the target audience. Stay informed about industry trends, language usage, and changes in grammar and style rules to ensure content remains relevant and engaging.
  • Ethical Considerations: Adhere to ethical standards related to publishing, including avoiding plagiarism and respecting copyright laws. Ensure all content is accurate, truthful, and transparent, with proper citation of sources.
