We are looking for an Account Manager based in Johannesburg! Working Type: Hybrid (X2 days in office) Retainer: R34 200 (Freelancer Take Home)


About this position

Main Responsibilities:

  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients by understanding their needs, expectations, and goals.
  • Account Management: Oversee and manage client accounts, ensuring they receive the products or services they've contracted for in a timely and satisfactory manner.
  • Client Needs Assessment: Work closely with clients to identify their business objectives and challenges, and recommend solutions that meet their needs.
  • Client Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally.
  • Problem Resolution: Resolve client issues, complaints, or escalations effectively to maintain a positive relationship and client satisfaction.
  • Account Growth: Identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell additional products or services to clients, thereby increasing revenue and expanding the scope of the account.
  • Contract Renewals: Manage contract renewals, negotiate terms, and ensure clients continue their partnership with the company.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze data and client feedback to assess account performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Sales Forecasting: Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to forecast client needs and market trends.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of client interactions, contracts, and account information.
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports and updates to management on the status of client accounts.
  • Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, competition, and emerging opportunities that can benefit clients.


  • A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field is often preferred.
  • Proven experience in account management, sales, or a related role.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Knowledge of the company's products or services and industry.
  • Proficiency with customer relationship management (CRM) software.
  • Sales or account management certifications can be an advantage.
