Main Responsibilities:
- Inspire, mentor, collaborate or manage teams involved in the development of online content, including designers, motion graphic designers and writers
- Lead team discussions and drive decision making during planning and strategy meetings
- Collaborate with brand and marketing agencies to align on digital objectives and direct the team to ensure brand continuity across channels
- Up-to-date with the latest digital trends and tactics to engage, inform and convert our customers awesomely
- Drive brainstorm sessions to conceptualise original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to customer focussed messages and interactions
- Collaborate with marketing, product, creative and development teams shape the requirements into compelling customer centric propositions
- Supervise the department's daily workflow, scope and assign projects, monitor deadlines and budgets
- Create your own creative assets
- Review, provide critical feedback and sign-off on creative assets developed by the team
- Present industry trends and competitor activities through reviews and inspirational showcases
- Present and defend design decisions in key milestone reviews with peers and executive level stakeholders
- Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards
Qualifications:
- Creative & analytical dexterity
- Expertise in the design and communication disciplines including visual design and communication principles, layout, photo editing, video editing, animation, illustration, typography, copywriting, etc
- Be highly creative and imaginative — and curious about our products or services and the triggers that motivate our target audiences
- Proven ability in developing gamification, engagement and content driven experiences that deliver business results
- Strong interpersonal skills and the openness to drive collaborative processes between stakeholders, creative team and management
- Formulate design and communication solutions that supports and shapes our digital brand strategy
- Help drive the successful achievement of our business metrics through the development of digital experiences
- Expertise in industry standard software such as Sketch, InVision, Adobe Creative Suite and Keynote
- Experience working directly with developers to implement designs with good knowledge around CSS and HTML
- Application of design and communication best practices and web production techniques
- Presentation skills to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and clients
- Passionate about driving conceptual ideation, communication and design excellence
- Seven plus years experience with preference given to candidates showcasing a strong portfolio of design and communication projects across web, app, social and emerging technologies
