We are looking for a Freelance Paid Specialist who will play a crucial role in optimising our clients' paid search campaigns to achieve their marketing goals. This role requires a deep understanding of pay-per-click (PPC) advertising, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple campaigns effectively. Location: Johannesburg/Cape Town Working Type: Hybrid (Open to remote but would require an in-person induction week) Hours: 40 hours weekly Retainer: R34 000 - R38 000

About this position

Main Responsibilities:

Paid Search Campaign Management

  • Develop and execute PPC strategies for clients across various industries.
  • Manage, optimise, and monitor PPC campaigns on platforms such as Google Ads, Bing Ads, and other relevant advertising networks.
  • Conduct keyword research, ad copy creation, and landing page optimisation to maximize campaign performance.
  • Implement A/B testing and other optimisation techniques to improve click-through rates (CTR), conversion rates, and return on ad spend (ROAS).
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to ensure our campaigns remain competitive.

Performance Analysis and Reporting

  • Generate regular performance reports and provide insights into campaign performance.
  • Analyse key metrics, such as click-through rate, conversion rate, impression share, and quality score.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement actionable strategies based on data-driven insights.
  • Prepare and present performance reports to clients, outlining the impact of paid search efforts on their business goals.

Budget Management

  • Develop and manage PPC budgets for clients, ensuring efficient allocation of funds across campaigns.
  • Monitor spending and adjust budgets as needed to achieve client objectives.
  • Implement bidding strategies to maximise ROI while staying within budget constraints.

Client Communication

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on campaign progress and performance.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their business objectives and adjust PPC strategies accordingly.
  • Address client questions, concerns, and feedback in a professional and timely manner.

Campaign Expansion and Growth

  • Identify opportunities for campaign expansion, including new keywords, ad groups, and targeting options.
  • Research and recommend new PPC advertising features and opportunities that align with client goals.
  • Work closely with the team to develop cross-channel marketing strategies that complement paid search efforts.  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Paid Search Specialist with a focus on Google Ads and Bing Ads.
  • Proficiency in PPC tools and platforms, including Google Ads, Google Analytics, Bing Ads, and others.
  • +3 years experience in a similar role
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Experience with A/B testing and optimization techniques.
  • Excellent communication and client management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.
  • Certification in Google Ads and/or Bing Ads is a plus.
