Junior Copywriters (Contract)

Retainer: R19 000 - R24 320 per month

Location: Stellenbosch, Cape Town

Working Type: 2 days in-office

Contract Length: 3-months (potential to extend)

Start Date: 1 July

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Content Creation
  
  • Write clear, concise copy for digital channels including emails, SMS, app messaging, and banner ads
  • Tailor messaging to suit different formats and audiences
  • Use AI tools like ChatGPT to support content ideation and development
  Campaign Collaboration
  • Assist in executing integrated campaigns across digital and traditional channels (roughly 80/20 split)
  • Work under the guidance of senior writers and campaign managers
  Team Integration
  • Collaborate with the in-house design team
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and design reviews
  • Provide copy updates directly in Figma where required
  Learning & Growth
  • Gain exposure to responsive HTML best practices
  • Participate in regular check-ins and feedback sessions
  • Grow technical proficiency and understanding of the Capitec brand tone

Requirements & Technical Skills:

• Relevant degree or diploma in Marketing, Communication, or a related field
• 1–2 years of copywriting experience (internships included)
• Exposure to digital marketing and campaign environments
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word & Excel
• Basic understanding of Figma (training can be provided)
• Comfort with AI tools like ChatGPT
• Willingness to learn about responsive HTML
