Freelance Graphic Designer

Main Responsibilities:

Print

• Design product packaging to specific printing die cuts, using set brand guidelines
• Design user manuals to preset brand templates
• Design business cards, banners, posters, and stickers
• Design catalogues and brochures to specific printing guidelines

Digital

• Design social media graphics, banners, GIFs, and videos for the day-to-day posting
• Design of website banners, product images, and thumbnails
• Edit raw photographs as per required technical specifications
• Design customer emailers on MailChimp
• Assist with product catalogue data compilation for editing and updates
• Assist with creating and rotating email signature banners
• Assist with the creation of custom templates to fast-track design requests

General

• Upload new artwork, images, and designs to the central SharePoint design folder (applying defined file naming convention rules and folder category syntax)
• Review and keep all brand logos, CI documents, and corporate documents up to date
• Assist with the creation of informative design briefs and collate required collateral before design projects begin
• Support multiple projects that are underway simultaneously
• Always adhere to the style guide, tone, and voice of the company and/or partners
• Ensure that copy is accurate and includes no grammatical or spelling errors

Qualifications:

• A minimum of a completed design-related degree/course from a relevant tertiary institution or college
• 2 to 5 years working experience
• Experience with design software and editing tools: Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop is required
• Experience with video editing software: Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects (or similar) will be advantageous
• Experience with WordPress & associated plugins (e.g., Elementor) will be advantageous
• Proficient with the Office 365 suite
• Good command over design techniques and visual elements
• Eager to learn, welcomes challenges, and works at a dynamic pace
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Good organisation skills and attention to detail
• Must be able to manage time and work to tight deadlines
• Must be able to multitask
• Remain adaptable and flexible in the face of unfamiliar or changing situations
• Willing to work necessary hours to make this position a success
• Curiosity and continuously strives to grow
• Ability to communicate if outcomes are not being met due to challenges
• Be able to receive constructive feedback and use this to grow and improve
