Mid-Senior Content Specialist (Contract)

Retainer: R24,000 - R43,200 per month

Contract Duration: 6-months (with a 3-month probationary period; after this to be extended as a rolling contract)

Working Environment: Remote (Ideally based in Pretoria as you will be working on online publications for the local area)

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement content strategies tailored to each city site. 
• Source, curate, write, and edit articles and event listings. 
• Perform on-page SEO research and optimisation for content to improve organic search performance. 
• Regularly refresh and refurbish existing content to keep it relevant and up to date. 
• Manage social media planning + community engagement, and represent the brand in public forums / events. 
• Collaborate with the Digital Design Specialist and Content Strategist to produce digital assets and aligned content. 
• Use a project management system to manage tasks and ensure quality and timely delivery.

Technical Requirements:

• Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or similar. 
• Proven experience in content strategy, digital marketing, and content creation.
• Experience using Google Analytics to assess content performance. 
• Strong SEO skills + social media experience. ‍
• Excellent writing, editing, and communication abilities, including managing community. ‍
• Strong organisational and project management skills.
• Ability to research deeply, spot local trends, and generate content that resonates with a city audience
