Creative Project Manager (Traffic) (Contract)

The Creative Project Manager (with Traffic responsibilities) plays a critical role in managing the end-to-end delivery of creative and corporate communications projects. This role combines project management, studio traffic coordination, and stakeholder management to ensure creative work is delivered on time, within budget, and aligned to brand and client expectations. The position serves as the operational bridge between clients, account management, and the creative team, overseeing workflows across digital and print design projects as well as short-form video content. The role requires strong organisational ability, attention to detail, and the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

About this position

Retainer: R28,000 per month

Working Environment: Hybrid (3 days in office)

Location: Midrand, Johannesburg

Contract Duration: 6 - 12-months (to go permanent)

Key Duties & Responsibilities:


Project Briefing & Planning

  • Interpret project requirements and objectives to develop execution plans.
  • Prioritise timelines and allocate resources effectively.
  • Brief internal creative teams and external partners clearly and accurately.
  • Ensure alignment between Account Management, Creative, and production teams.

Project & Traffic Management

  • Create and manage projects within project management tools.
  • Traffic all creative work through the studio.
  • Develop rollout schedules from concept through final delivery.
  • Monitor workloads and support optimisation of creative team capacity.
  • Manage campaign review and approval processes.
  • Track progress and ensure deadlines and budgets are met.

Creative Management & Quality Control

  • Manage creative feedback and reverts from stakeholders.
  • Monitor quality and consistency of creative output.
  • Ensure deliverables remain on-brand and aligned with briefs.
  • Perform quality checks before final delivery.
  • Support creative teams in delivering effective communication materials.

Proposals & Commercial Support

  • Assist Creative Director and Account Director with project costings and quotes.
  • Support development of proposal presentations when required.

Operational & Administrative Support

  • Maintain brand consistency across deliverables.
  • Coordinate internal and external partners.
  • Manage ad hoc duties related to project delivery and studio operations

StakeHolder Management

  • Act as primary point of contact for assigned studio projects.
  • Liaise directly with clients regarding timelines, updates, and project changes.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure clear communication across teams.
  • Coordinate and lead internal project meetings and weekly status updates.
  • Prepare project reports and progress updates for stakeholders.
  • Delegate tasks to internal teams, freelancers, and suppliers.
  • Ensure collaboration and alignment across multiple project contributors.

Technical Requirements:

  • 3–5 years’ experience within a creative, agency, or communications environment.
  • Experience managing digital and print creative projects.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience managing digital-first projects (80% digital / 20% print environment)
