Freelance Senior Copywriter

Working Type: In-office

Working Location: Melrose Arch, Johannesburg

Hours: 40 hours weekly (08:30 - 17:00)

Retainer: R32 000 - R44 000 per month (take home, depending on skills & experience)

Contract Duration: 3 months (potential of extension)

Main Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement creative copy strategies that align with our marketing goals and brand voice.
• Write, edit, and proofread copy for a variety of channels including digital, social media, print, and broadcast.
• Collaborate with the marketing and design teams to conceptualize and execute compelling campaigns.
• Understand and apply SEO best practices in web content creation to increase visibility and engagement.
• Analyse and adapt to performance data to optimize copy and improve engagement.
• Ensure all content is consistent with brand guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitors, and customer insights to inform content strategy.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of copywriting experience, preferably in the online gambling, betting, or gaming industry.
• Proven track record of creating compelling and effective copy across a range of mediums.
• Strong understanding of digital marketing strategies and SEO principles.
• Excellent storytelling, writing, and editing skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Creative thinker with the ability to produce innovative ideas under tight deadlines.
• Strong research skills and the ability to adapt tone and style for different target audiences.
• Familiarity with content management systems and digital analytics tools.
