Graphic Designer (Freelance)

Retainer: Market Related

Location: Century City, Cape Town

Working Hours: 30 - 40 hours a week

Main Responsibilities:

• Design high-impact visuals across digital channels: banners, app content, emailers, social media, paid media, push notifications
• Develop and refine typographic layouts aligned with our tone and brand storytelling
• Support seasonal campaigns, product launches, brand collateral and visual toolkits
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams: copywriters, content strategists, stylists, content creators, and marketers
• Use AI image generation tools to create assets and build internal creative libraries
• Contribute to video editing, motion graphics, and adaptation of content for reels, stories and product ads
• Maintain a consistent visual identity across all touchpoints in line with our brand guidelines
• Participate in brainstorming and concept development for brand campaigns and activations

Qualifications & Technical Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in Graphic Design or related field
• 3+ years’ experience in a digital design or art direction role
  
• Strong portfolio showcasing layout design, typography, digital campaigns and branded content
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign; After Effects a plus)
• Working knowledge of Figma (for collaborative design and mockups)
• Basic video editing and animation capabilities (Premiere Pro, After Effects or equivalent)
• Familiarity with Google Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets, Drive)
• Experience with or interest in AI tools (e.g., Midjourney, ChatGPT) for creating imagery, clips, and voiceovers
