Intermediate Software Engineer

About this position
Budget: R45 000 - R55,000 per month (plus benefits)
Location: Gardens, Cape Town
Working Environment: Hybrid (3 days in office)
Start Date: ASAP
Key Duties & Responisbilities:
- Duty 1 – Software Development & Technical Excellence
Design, develop, test and implement scalable software solutions using modern development practices. Write clean, maintainable and readable code, applying object-oriented principles, design patterns, and separation of concerns. - Duty 2 – Time, Task & Continuous Improvement Management
Accurately estimate development timelines, manage workloads effectively, and deliver tasks reliably. Contribute to continuous integration practices, automated testing, and the improvement of internal documentation and knowledge repositories. - Duty 3 – Collaboration & Mentorship
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, communicate effectively, and support the mentorship and development of Junior Engineers through coaching and knowledge sharing.
Technical Requirements & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 3 years of programming experience
- Experience designing, documenting, programming, testing, and implementing large-scale systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgement
- Ability to evaluate and analyse complex technical challenges
- Strong self-learning capability and adaptability to new technologies
