Junior Designer (Contract)
Our client is looking for a Junior Designer to support the Senior Designer with overflow design work across branding, layout and visual communication projects. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, reliable designer who is eager to grow within a fast-moving, creative and commercially driven environment. The Junior Designer will contribute to brand creation and application, marketing collateral, reports and presentations, working closely with senior stakeholders and integrating feedback effectively.
About this position
Retainer: £850 - £1,000 per month (roughly R18,988.66 - R21,910.00 per month)
Location: Remote (working for a UK agency)
Contract Length: 12-months
Contract Type: Full-time Contract
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with brand identity development and application across client and internal projects
- Create and update case studies to showcase Harris Studios’ work
- Maintain and update brand concepts via the internal web portal
- Design layouts for digital magazines, websites and editorial-style content
- Build charts, infographics and data visuals for reports and investor-facing materials
- Source, retouch and edit imagery
- Support with formatting pitch decks and presentations
- Work collaboratively with the Senior Designer and wider team to meet deadlines
Technical Skills & Requirements:
- 1–2 years of design experience (agency, in-house or freelance)
- Hands-on experience with brand creation and brand application
- Experience in layout design, particularly for digital magazines, reports, websites and social media
- Strong image retouching and editing skills
- Experience creating charts, infographics or data-driven visuals
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop essential)
- After Effects or Premiere Pro is advantageous
- Working knowledge of Figma or similar collaborative design tools is beneficial but not essential
- Ability to confidently design within existing brand systems and develop new visual identities from scratch
