About this position

Retainer: Market related

Working Environment: Remote - ideally Cape Town based (working for a UK agency)

Contract Duration: 12-months

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Duty 1: Own and grow client relationships by acting as a trusted advisor, leading consultative conversations, and taking commercial responsibility for account retention and expansion.
  • Duty 2: Project manage multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated digital marketing campaigns, ensuring seamless coordination, quality delivery, and alignment with client objectives.
  • Duty 3: Lead client communications including calls, proposals, and reporting; maintain CRM pipelines; proactively identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities; and manage stakeholder expectations end-to-end.

  • Confidently manage and grow relationships with senior client stakeholders
  • Build trust through consultative conversations, not just reporting updates
  • Actively participate in and lead client calls beyond introductions and summaries
  • Interpret underlying client needs, not just explicit requests
  • Proactively identify opportunities to retain and grow accounts
  • Lead meetings, set agendas, and drive actionable next steps
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and escalation for assigned accounts

Technical Requirements & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in account management or digital marketing client services
  • Proven experience managing and growing client accounts
  • Strong understanding of B2B digital marketing environments
  • Demonstrated consultative relationship management skills
  • Have a solid grounding in digital marketing (paid media, SEO, CRO, analytics, content)
  • Understand how channels integrate and link to business outcomes
  • Be able to credibly advise clients and identify performance risks or opportunities
