Senior Designer (Contract)

Retainer: R32 000 - R44 000 (depending on skills and experience)

Contract Duration: 3-months

Start Date: ASAP

Working Type: In-office

Working Location: Melrose Arch, Johannesburg

Hours: 40 hours weekly (08:00 - 17:00)

Main Responsibilities:

• Conceptualisation and Ideation
  
  • Develop through-the-line creative concepts and original ideas.
  • Understand different media/platforms and tailor designs accordingly.
  • Support management by transforming concepts into strong visual executions.
• Collaboration and Communication
  
  • Guide and mentor Junior and Mid-level Designers.
  • Foster a positive team culture and strong collaboration with copywriters and other departments.
  • Share knowledge and best practices with the team regularly.
  • Attend daily standups and remain agile to shifting business priorities.
• Graphic Design – Digital and Print across platforms
  
  • Create and establish impactful designs with strong business and customer relevance.
    Conceptualise and roll out assets across multiple media within deadlines.
  • Deliver work that is media-specific, CI-compliant, and of high quality.
  • Set up and prepare files for various print substrates.
  • Follow established studio processes and contribute original proactive work.

Skills & Experience:

• Diploma or Degree in Graphic Design/Design Communication (3 years)
• 5-6+ years’ experience in design, with at least 2 years in a senior role
• Expert-level in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
• Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Office Suite
• Ability to manage multiple projects and provide guidance without micromanaging
• Understanding of print production processes
• Familiarity with current design trends and their practical application
• Diligent file setup, management, and sharing practices
