Social Media & Events Manager

We are is looking for a hands-on, creative, and energetic Social Media & Events Manager to lead both the online and real-world experience of its residential brand. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a performance-driven, fast-paced environment and wants to make a visible impact on tenant satisfaction and brand presence. You will manage social media strategy, own the content calendar, and deliver approximately 8 monthly events across various estates – all while leading a small events team and working closely with the agency on paid campaigns.

Main Responsibilities:

Social Media Strategy & Content Creation
  • Own our organic social media strategy across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and more.
  • Develop and maintain a proactive content calendar aligned with company activities, key dates, and promotions.
  • Lead full content creation: concepting, scripting, designing, filming, editing (CapCut/Canva), and posting.
  • Respond to DMs and comments timeously (within 24 hours) and manage community engagement.
  • Track, analyse, and report on monthly social performance, including actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with the external paid media agency to align on paid TikTok campaigns, while they manage Google and Meta ads.
  • Keep up with social trends and platform updates to ensure content remains fresh and engaging.
  • Update the website and assist with internal communications when needed.
Event Management & Community Engagement
  • Plan and coordinate approximately 8 tenant-facing events monthly across multiple estates.
  • Examples include mixers (braais, DJ nights, sip and paint), fitness and dance classes, tournaments, and excursions (e.g. bowling, hiking).
  • Handle end-to-end logistics: venue setup, attendance, vendors, signage, sound equipment, etc.
  • Liaise with freelance staff, event assistants, photographers, and service providers.
  • Attend after-hours events as needed (with time off in the week).
  • Source guest speakers and sponsorships for applicable events.
  • Capture event content for future use on social platforms.
Team & Vendor Coordination
  • Lead and coordinate the events team (permanent and freelance staff).
  • Oversee event setup and quality control.
  • Negotiate with vendors, service providers, and sponsors.
  • Direct photographers and videographers where needed for social and promotional content.

Technical Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Marketing, Multimedia Design, Digital Media, or similar.
  • 4+ years’ experience in a social media and/or event execution role.
  • Event experience is not essential, but a keen interest in events is required.
  • Previous experience in property, lifestyle brands, or community marketing is a plus.
  • Background working with internal teams and agencies is beneficial.
  • Strong background in content creation, particularly TikToks, Reels, and visual-first formats.
  • A portfolio showcasing work is essential.
  • Hands-on experience with Canva and CapCut.
  • Confident in social tools (Meta Business Suite, Sprout Social, etc.).
  • Strong photography and videography instincts.
